Bio:
Master Josh Started studying under Grand Master Art Miraflor 1994. During my time with GM Art, I had the opportunity to be apart of community events like take back the park. We also demonstrated for local churches to draw those who had never been to church. I moved to Alaska where I continued practice for two and a half years. I moved to Tennessee where I transferred due to work and partnered with a karate School in Green Hills 2009 before the Nashville flood. The school was destroyed. Restarted Escrima school in Murfreesboro in 2018 til present. Stick Fighting Academy of Middle TN has continued to grow and now we have 18 student that attend learning Mirarada Escrima.

Education:
I took some classes at Christian Life Center where I studied to be a minister. Due to having a family, I left school to pursue a career in the financial industry. I worked for Providian Financial in Pleasanton. I was recruited by Wells Fargo where I spent 13 awesome years learning and cutting my teeth on the financial industry. Wells Fargo took me to Alaska, then to Tennessee. I transitioned from Wells Fargo to US Bank, then SunTrust and now First Horizon Bank.

​I have three children, 21, 18 and 15. My wife Frances Rosales and I have been married for five years. 
My school Stick Fighting Academy of Middle Tennessee offers a practical self defense class where you can walk away confident and aware of the unexpected. I also teach Mirarada Escrima. Mirarada Escrima system is stick to stick, stick to hand and hand to hand. We also teach knife, double stick drills and much more.
